Who we are

The world’s first climate SuperCluster

The Climate Tech SuperCluster is a growth engine for UK and European climate tech innovation.

Our rich ecosystem brings together for the first time innovators, corporates, investors, academia from across UK, France, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. Connecting talent, technology and investment.

All with a focus on accelerating and scaling progress in climate-critical technologies.

The Climate Tech SuperCluster is:

  • Super connected: encompassing a region within four hours train travel from London

  • Super charged: powered by world-leading universities tech businesses, rated in the top three globally

  • Super scale: our region boasts over 3,000 start-ups and scale-ups within the burgeoning European climate tech space

  • Super focused: on activating our ecosystem, on tackling the climate emergency, on driving economic growth across the region

What we do

We’re in the midst of a climate emergency. In March 2025, atmospheric carbon dioxide hit 427.4 parts per million, significantly above levels determined as safe by the IPCC.

The time to act is now.

The Climate Tech SuperCluster is here to tackle this challenge head on, uniting the region in its ambition to commercialise climate tech and meaningfully reduce carbon.

We do this in three ways:

  • Catalyse: acting as an accelerator to success by offering expertise and support to innovators, corporates, universities, government and investors.

  • Convene: providing innovators, investors, corporates and the wider ecosystem access to a central platform of trusted information and expertise as they work together on shared and pressing climate challenges

  • Connect: creating an ecosystem for the climate tech community that will deliver scale and impact by crossing regional and national boundaries

Together, we are establishing the UK and Europe as world leaders in sustainable innovation.

Themes of Innovation

Reducing negative environmental impacts through energy efficiency, sustainable use of resources, and environmental protection activities, are fundamental to climate tech and cleantech innovation solutions. Cleantech Venture Day Amsterdam will explore Energy and Transport transition as well as Industrial Decarbonisation.

  • For solutions that create energy from renewable and/or zero-emission sources which may include but not be limited to alternative fuels, energy management, distribution and storage.

  • Innovations that are enabling the move towards net-zero with solutions that might include logistics, electric vehicles, EV charging, mobility as a service, shared mobility and fuel cells.

  • Looking to find solutions that make industry cleaner and smarter, potentially including carbon capture, digitisation, and supply chain transition.
